The Department of Anesthesiology at the Ochsner Health System in New Orleans is seeking a board eligible/board certified anesthesiologist to join the Division of Abdominal Transplant Anesthesia. Experience in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant is desired, but not required. Candidates with familiarity with intraoperative TEE are also preferred. Ochsner is a high-volume program among U.S. medical centers. We routinely perform liver transplants, liver-kidney transplants, kidney transplants and kidney-pancreas transplants. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as a commitment to teaching and education, are prerequisites. We had the privilege of serving as the host organization for the 2022 Annual Meeting of the International Liver Transplant Society, the premier organization for Liver Transplant Surgeons and Anesthesiologists around the world.

The Department of Anesthesiology includes 80 anesthesiologists, 120 CRNAs, and over 45 house staff, with an annual case volume of more than 52,000. All faculty actively participate in teaching and clinical care; many take advantage of opportunities in clinical investigation and professional service.
