The Manger performs, coordinates, and supervises assigned department’s machinery and equipment repair and maintenance.

Education 

Required – High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related field

Additional degrees,  business training experience and/or certifications may be combined to meet minimum qualifications.

Certifications

Required- If the incumbent’s primary location is a hospital/clinical setting, a Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) must be obtained within 12 months

Preferred- Vocational school training or licensure in HVAC, operating engineering, electrical and/or plumbing
Upon hire Certified Healthcare Facilities
Manager (CHFM) or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) (if working in at hospital setting)

Work Experience

Required – 10 years Managerial field experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Knowledge of NFPA 99, 101, 72,110 codes, the Joint Commission standards and all applicable local and state codes
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management software systems and Microsoft office products
  • Skills to teach technical material in a formal setting
  • Self-directed with the ability handle stress and job pressure in order to successfully complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to be courteous and considerate towards patients, families, co-workers and others and act as a team player
     

Job Duties

  • Supervises work crew including planning and scheduling all efforts to main all buildings, facilities, and grounds.
  • Prepares time and attendance reports as necessary.
  • Maintains inventory and maintenance records.
  • Prepares detail cost estimates and tracks expenses for repairs, materials, and labor for projects.
  • Inspects buildings for cleanliness and proper working order.
