The Section of Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Ochsner Children’s Hospital seeks candidates for a position of staff surgeon. Primary responsibilities span the elements of pediatric plastic surgery, including cleft care, craniofacial surgery, a headship clinic, orthognathic surgery, pediatric hand surgery, adolescent breast surgery, congenital nevi, birthmarks and vascular anomalies, and ear reconstruction. Clinical responsibilities will also include facial trauma coverage, and expanding the depth and breath of the section. The successful candidate must demonstrate clinical excellence and academic contributions through training or practice experience.

There are currently 6 full time plastic surgeons employed at Ochsner, and the selected candidate would be the second pediatric plastic surgeon in the section as we look to expand our programmatic growth. 

Basic Qualifications:

– Must have an M.D./ D.O. or equivalent medical degree.

– Must be board-certified/eligible and have completed an ACGME-approved residency in plastic surgery.

– Fellowship training in craniofacial surgery is required.

– Candidates must be committed to educating students, residents, and fellows.

– Excellent communication skills and interest in working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment is essential.
