This job manages property operations on a day to day basis to assure optimum performance and continual improvement in the five functional areas: guest service, employees, sales/marketing, property appearance, and profit/financial control; coordinates, directs and manages the staff and everyday hotel operations to achieve profitability, guest satisfaction and efficiency while maintaining standards set by the company assuring 100% guest satisfaction; and sees to the implementation of optimal and attractive products and services required to address the hotel’s target groups.

Education

Required – Bachelor’s degree in business management, tourism, or hospitality.

Work Experience

Required – 5 years of hotel management experience.

10 years of related experience in the hospitality industry including 3 years of supervision or management experience.

Preferred – Proficient in conversational Spanish.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Computer skills and proficient with Windows-style applications, keyboard, and various software packages specific to the role (Microsoft Office Suite, Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout required job processes.
  • Professional attitude and ability to relate to executive management, professionals and business and community leaders.
  • Ability to exhibit excellent leadership, self-direction, and good judgment in handling difficult situations and good organizational, time management, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage hotel revenue and manage profit/loss to company targets.
  • Good business acumen and the ability to present hotel financial performance information.
  • Project planning skills and ability to prioritize projects/ tasks.
  • High managerial capacities and ability to be accountable for personal and team performance.
  • Ability to be pro-active, result driven, a team player and captain (hands-on).
  • Ability to adapt vision and be flexible.
  • Ability to be socially engaged and passionate and innovative.

  • Performs research, education and training.
  • Manages operational profitability.

  • Manages property appearance and hotel infrastructure.

Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Sedentary Work. Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible. NOTE: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Mechanical lifting devices (carts, dollies, etc.) or team lifts should be utilized.

Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue and as part of their employment, incumbents are not called upon to perform or assist in emergency care or first aid.
There is no occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases.

Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
