This role serves as a key facilitator of patient flow across the organization. This nonclinical is responsible for monitoring throughput processes in real time, identifying and addressing delays, and working collaboratively with departments to ensure timely progression of patients through each stage of care. The throughput navigator acts as a central point of communication and escalation to resolve barriers, optimize efficiency, and enhance the overall patient journey and experience.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education
- Required - High School Diploma/GED
Work Experience
- Preferred - 2 years Healthcare Experience
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and roles.
- Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking abilities in a fast paced environment.
- Proficiency in using hospital information systems, bed management platforms, and real time dashboards.
- Highly organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Job Duties
- Monitor patient flow and throughput metrics in real time, identifying areas where time stamps or process benchmarks are not being met.
- Intervene proactively to address delays by engaging the appropriate units, departments, or individuals.
- Serve as a liaison between clinical and operational teams, facilitating timely communication and collaboration.
- Escalate issues and coordinate problem solving when throughput bottlenecks are identified.
- Collaborate with staff, leaders, bed management, and support services to maintain smooth patient progression.
- Participate in daily operational huddles and provide real time updates on flow challenges and resolutions.
- Performs other duties as assigned
