This job manages the analytics team in researching, developing, and maintaining analytical solutions for various business units. Manages relationships with the application teams and applications leadership and operational teams and operational leadership. Manages day-to-day individual and team dynamics, work prioritization, fiscal stewardship, and management of all aspects of analytics project life cycle.

Education

Required - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, business, or related field.

Preferred – Master’s degree in computer science, healthcare, business, or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 5 years of experience in business intelligence or data management.

3 years of experience using SQL in daily activities.

3 years of experience overseeing analytical system processes and/or servers.

3 years of experience overseeing analytics projects from inception to roll out.

1 year of experience with data visualization software (i.e., Tableau, PowerBI, other) and data visualization principles.

1 year of experience leading analytics teams.

Preferred – Healthcare experience.

Certifications

Preferred – Epic certification.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Understanding of business goals and objectives and ability to align the team's work to strategic priorities.

  • Deep knowledge of analytics best practices and ability to guide the team in defining, designing, building analytics solutions aligned with customer needs.

  • Good understanding of all aspects of healthcare operations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to support and develop client relationship by listening to, understanding, and articulating client needs and translating them to technical specifications.

  • Strong partnering, coaching, and mentoring skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and pay close attention to detail.

  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills and ability to use effective decision making in complex, dynamic situations.

  • Negotiation skills and ability to work with various parties towards a mutually acceptable business solution and maintain customer focus.

  • Ability to work flexible schedule, such as evenings, nights, weekends, extended shifts, etc.

Job Duties

  • Manages projects to meet client requirements.

  • Delivers applications that adhere to standards and support initiatives.

  • Serves as a subject matter expert in analytics to support data, business intelligence applications, and commercial analytics solutions.

  • Translates business objectives into data requirements.

  • Supports data & analytics internal and external education initiatives.

  • Coordinates internal resources and vendors to provide accurate and precise execution of projects.

  • Ensures projects are delivered on time, on budget, and within agreed project scope.

  • Liaises with leadership and end users to report and escalate risks.

  • Develops, maintains, and tracks project status reports, statements of work, scoping documentation, and other relevant documentation.

  • Ensures assigned projects support the organizational and departmental goals.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

The risk level of exposure may increase depending on the essential job duties of the role.
