This role leads strategic projects serving the K–12 population in our on-campus lab, partner schools, and community settings, leveraging project management, change management, and process improvement core capabilities. The position manages individual projects through the entire lifecycle with accountability for progress and success, while also developing and implementing communication strategies to engage key stakeholders and departmental partners.In addition, the role draws on laboratory experience—as a teacher or graduate researcher—to inform evidence-based decision making, program design, and evaluation. The individual may also lead or support K–12 science fairs, fostering student engagement in authentic research and scientific inquiry across diverse settings.
Education
Required - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, finance, public health, health care administration or related field.
Preferred - Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, finance, public health, health care administration or related field.
Work Experience
Required - 5 years of experience in relevant field such as healthcare operations, finance, industrial engineering, and/or organizational development including 1 year project management / change management / process improvement / healthcare experience; OR 3 years relevant experience with a master's degree
Preferred - Relevant teaching experience
Certifications
Preferred - Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or equivalent (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt or Master Change Agent).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Ability to design, implement, and evaluate K–12 educational programs in laboratory, school, and community settings.
Knowledge of scientific research practices gained through graduate research or laboratory teaching experience.
Experience in leading or supporting K–12 science fairs and fostering student engagement in authentic scientific inquiry.
Ability to serve as a science curriculum lead or department lead, aligning instructional practices with organizational goals.
Flexibility to travel between labs, schools, and community partner facilities.
Job Duties
Actively leads project efforts through entire project life cycle including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing.
Enables an effective project communication strategy through active communications with project stakeholders and the program manager.
Serves as instructor for strategic program management training programs.
Conducts coaching/consulting engagements leveraging project management, change management, and process improvement core capabilities.
Performs other related duties as required.
