This job oversees the conduct and daily operations of biomedical research projects in collaboration with physicians, scientists, or other leaders. Works independently and conducts research with minimum supervision. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of research data or specimen collection, processing, and analysis. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data, and interprets results; prepares technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses. Maintains familiarity with current scientific literature; investigates, creates, or develops new methods and technologies for project advancement; writes grants and secures extramural funding; prepares research manuscripts, scientific reviews, abstracts and posters for publication or presentation; and participates in scientific conferences, seminars, and training programs.Job Description

Education
Required - Bachelor’s degree sciences, social sciences, mathematics, analytics, artificial intelligence, public health or related fields.
Work Experience
Required - 5 years of experience in biomedical research.
Preferred - Prior experience in healthcare.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Knowledge of biomedical research processes.
- Project management, time management, and organizational skills.
- Strong medical writing skills and analytical skills.
- Ability to read papers and present in organized manner.
- Proficiency in project-relevant technical skills, such as programming, machine learning, image analysis, complex statistical analysis.
- Knowledge of data visualization, charts, dashboards, and reporting tools preferred.
- Knowledge of research regulations and compliance policies and procedures.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications, including project-relevant applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Job Duties
- Executes research projects and initiatives, organizes workflow of project management, communicates with, and presents plans/projects to team members, leads project update meetings, and sets meeting agendas and priorities.
- Collects, records, and evaluates research data and oversees data integrity, including oversight of data collection directly from participants, pulling data from electronic health records, and processing images and oversees maintenance of accurate and thorough patient data records ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of all patient data.
- Develops and implements recruitment strategies for research volunteers and recruits, consents, or interviews research participants.
- Stays current with scientific and medical literature related to research projects and organizes and publishes research data in the form of abstracts, presentations and journal or book articles.
- Writes grants and IRB applications.
- Teaches and mentors junior research staff and delegates appropriate research tasks.
- Engages in programming, machine learning, image analysis, complex statistical analysis and performs data visualization, charts, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Leads research activities in compliance with federal, state, local and organization policies, and procedures.
- Fosters relationships with internal and external stakeholders through regular engagement, communication, and consistent delivery of analytic work products.
- Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
