Ochsner Health, Louisiana’s leading healthcare educator, and home to Ochsner Medical Center (OMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Gastroenterology team!

Gastroenterology specializes in the treatment of disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. At Ochsner, we treat a wide variety of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. We see patients with common diseases such as reflux, abdominal pain, constipation and diarrhea, as well as more complicated diseases like gastrointestinal bleeding, cancer and inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis).

  • Location: Ochsner Medical Center, New Orleans, LA
  • Dept: Gastroenterology
  • Hours: Full Time
  • Shift: Days or Nights Available

Qualifications

  • Required - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
  • Required - Current State of Louisiana Registered Nurse License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Job Duties

  • This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice
  • Delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members
  • Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes
  • Exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions
  • Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives
  • Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports the company's philosophy of nursing
